The subject of this paper is the study of the Meissner effect in relationship with free charged bosons in external constant magnetic fields inside a cylinder. The author is interested in the study of the following problems: (i) the local gauge invariance and its role in the semiclassical model and the properties of the current; (ii) the London form of the current and the Meissner effect; (iii) the connection to the Higgs effect. Some open problems complete the content of this paper.
