A relaxed projection method is proposed for solving split variational inequality problems arising from signal recovery and image processing applications. The method is based on decomposition techniques and exploits the separable (splitting) structure of the problem. The properties of the method and the global convergence under some mild conditions are given. Numerical experiments illustrate the performance of the method.
