Let \(\mathbb K\) be a Pythagorean field of characteristic different from 2. Recall that \textit{J.-L. Cathelineau} [Ann. Sci. Éc. Norm. Supér. (4) 40, No. 3, 487-517 (2007; Zbl 1133.20037)] obtained homology stability for the \(H_i(\text O_n(\mathbb K),\mathbb Z)\). The author now studies stability for the \(H_i(\text{SO}_n(\mathbb K),\mathbb Z)\) and the \(H_i(\text O_n(\mathbb K),\mathbb Z^t)\), where \(\mathbb Z^t\) denotes \(\mathbb Z\) coefficients twisted by the determinant. He shows that \(H_i(\text{SO}_n(\mathbb K),\mathbb Z)\to H_i(\text{SO}_{n+1}(\mathbb K),\mathbb Z)\) and \(H_i(\text O_n(\mathbb K),\mathbb Z^t)\to H_i(\text O_{n+1}(\mathbb K),\mathbb Z^t)\) are surjective for \(2i\leq n\) and bijective for \(2i<n\).
