A semigroup \(S\) is said to be completely \(\pi\)-regular (epigroup) if for any \(a\in S\) there exists a positive integer \(n\) such that \(a^n\) is completely regular, i.e. belongs to a subgroup of \(S\); \(a^0\) is the identity of this group. A GV-semigroup is a completely \(\pi\)-regular semigroup in which every regular element is completely regular. Denote the set of all inverses of a regular element \(a\) by \(V(a)\) and define a relation \(a\mathcal Yb\) iff \(V(aa^0)=V(bb^0)\). It is proved, that in a GV-semigroup the congruence \(\mathcal Y^*\) generated by the relation \(\mathcal Y\) is either the equality or the least Clifford congruence.
