Let \(X\) be a compact Kähler manifold of dimenion \(n\) and \(\alpha\in H^{1,1}(X,\mathbb{R})\) a big cohomology class. Then by the well-known \(\partial\overline\partial\)-lemma, given a smooth representative \(\theta\in\alpha\), any closed positive current \(T\in\alpha\) can be written \(T=\theta+dd^c\varphi\), where \(\varphi\) is a quasi-plurisubharmonic functions in \(X\), hence in \(L(X)\), such that \(\theta+ dd^c\varphi\geq 0\) in the sense of currents on \(X\), \(\varphi\) is called a \(\theta\)-plurisubharmonic function on \(X\). It is unique up to an additive constant and is called a \(\theta\)-potential of \(T\). When the class \(\alpha\) is not Kähler, the potential of a positive closed current may have singularities along some divisor in \(X\). Therefore given big cohomology classes \(\alpha_1,\dots,\alpha_p\in H^{1,1}(X,\mathbb{R})\), \(1\leq p\leq n\), and positive closed currents \(T_1\in\alpha_1,\dots, T_p\in\alpha_p\), their intersection \(T_1\wedge\cdots\wedge T_p\) is not well defined. However it is possible to define the so-called non-pluripolar intersection \(\langle T_1\wedge\cdots\wedge T_p\rangle\) as a positive closed \((p,p)\)-current on \(X\). This has been used to built up a pluripotential theory in big cohomology classes [\textit{S. Boucksom} et al., Acta Math. 205, No. 2, 199--262 (2010; Zbl 1213.32025)]). In particular it allowed these authors to define the complex Monge-Ampère operator for potentials of singular closed positive \((1,1)\)-forms in a given big cohomology class. Then important classes of finite weighted energy potentials were introduced to solve degenerate complex Monge-Ampère equations in a quite general setting. In particular Calabi-Yau and Aubin-Yau celebrated theorems were extend in this general setting. In this context, the author investigates natural problems related to the invariance of the intersection theory as well as the corresponding complex Monge-Ampère operators, energy classes, capacities and many analytical objects related to pluripotential theory for a big cohomology class. The author is able to carry out a complete study of these problems giving examples and counterexamples to illustrate the results obtained. Let us state some of them in more details. First the author proves the invariance of the intersection theory for currents in big cohomology classes by bi-meromorphic morphisms between compact Kähler manifolds. Moreover she shows that if \(f\) is a bi-meromorphic map from a compact Kähler manifold \(X\) to a compact Kähler manifold \(Y\) and if \(\alpha\) is a big cohomology class on \(X\), then the push-forward by \(f\) of the class of all closed positive currents in \(\alpha\) is not always equal to the class of closed positive currents in the class \(f_*\alpha\). When this is the case it is said that \(\alpha\) satisfies condition (V). In the two-dimensional case it is shown that condition (V) is satisfied iff the volume of the class is preserved, i.e., \(\text{vol}(f_*\alpha)= \text{vol}(\alpha)\). It is also shown in higher dimension that under condition (V), the energy classes are preserved whenever the volume is preserved. On the other hand the author gives an interesting example showing that the important energy class \({\mathcal E}^1(X,\alpha)\) is not invariant under blowing down. Many other results about algebraic properties of energy classes in big cohomology classes are proved and examples are provided to illustrate these results. In conclusion the paper is very well written and contains many new results which in my opinion give interesting contributions to pluripotential theory on a compact Kähler manifold equipped with a big cohomology class.
