In this paper, the following periodic boundary value problem \[ \begin{cases} x'' + m^2 x = \lambda f(t,x), \quad t \in [0,2\pi], \\ x(0)=x(2\pi), \quad x'(0)=x'(2\pi) \end{cases} \] is considered, where \(m\in(0,1/2)\) and \(\lambda\) is a positive parameter. It is proved that there exist \(\underline{\lambda}\) and \(\overline{\lambda}\) such that \(0<\underline{\lambda}<\overline{\lambda}\), there is no positive solution if \(0<\lambda<\underline{\lambda}\), and there exist at least two positive solutions if \(\lambda\geq\overline{\lambda}\), under some condition on \(f(t,x)\).
