This present work considers linear recurrence relations for the Riemann zeta function, that are of a similar form to \[ \frac{(-1)^n \pi^{2n}n}{(2n+1)!}+\sum_{k=0}^{n-1}\frac{(-1)^{k}\pi^{2k}}{(2k+1)!}\zeta{(2n-2k)}=0, \] as derived by Song and Lettington. \textit{I. Song} [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 21, No. 2, 251--256 (1988; Zbl 0635.65005)] obtained the above identity using Fourier series expansions of periodic functions, whereas the reviewer's approach [Acta Arith. 158, No. 1, 1--31 (2013; Zbl 1278.11024)] involved deriving the Bernoulli recurrence relation \[ 2^{2n-1}B_{2n}= \frac{n}{2n+1}-\frac{1}{2n+1}\sum_{k=1}^{n-1}\binom{2n+1}{2k}2^{2k-1}B_{2k}, \] from which the zeta function recurrence relation immediately follows. The authors approach is similar to that of Lettington's, wherein the Bernoulli recurrence relations are first obtained, with the Riemann zeta function recurrence relations appearing as corollaries. In particular, for $n$ a positive integer, and $\alpha$ a complex number, the author obtains the results (respectively Corollary 3.1 and Corollary 3.2) \[ \begin{multlined} (-1)^n \frac{(\alpha-1)^{2n-1}-(\alpha+1)^{2n-1}}{4}\cdot \frac{(2\pi)^{2n}}{(2n-1)!}\\ +\sum_{k=1}^n (-1)^k \left (2\alpha^{2k}-(\alpha-1)^{2k}-(\alpha+1)^{2k}\right )\frac{(2\pi)^{2k}}{(2k)!}\zeta(2n-2k)=0, \end{multlined} \] and \[ \begin{multlined} (-1)^n \frac{(\alpha-1)^{2n}+(\alpha+1)^{2n}+2\alpha^{2n} }{4}\cdot \frac{(2\pi)^{2n}}{(2n)!}\\ +\sum_{k=0}^n (-1)^k \left ((\alpha-1)^{2k+1}-(\alpha+1)^{2k+1}\right )\frac{(2\pi)^{2k}}{(2k+1)!}\zeta(2n-2k)=0. \end{multlined} \]
