The paper presents the continuous-time derivative model and two gradient dynamics models for the real-time varying nonlinear optimization. A continuous-time Zhang dynamics model is proposed to improve the weakness of the previous models. A discrete-time Zhang dynamics model is developed for potential digital hardware realization. The residual error of the continuous-time Zhang dynamics model is shown to have an exponential convergence. Computer simulation and numerical experiments are provided to illustrate the efficiency of the continuous-time Zhang dynamics model and the discrete-time Zhang dynamics model.
