The authors study the residual lifetime and inactivity time of linear and circular consecutive \(k\)-out-of-\(n\) systems when the lifetimes of components are arbitrarily dependent. The reliability properties of the residual lifetime of such systems are considered and some stochastic ordering properties of residual lifetime of consecutive \(k\)-out-of-\(n\) systems are presented.
