This paper is somewhat not so easy to read because it refers, without more details, to the notations of a preceding companion paper [ibid. 348, No. 3, 847--895 (2016; Zbl 1361.82011)] published about one year ago in the same journal. It studies systems defined by MPS Hamiltonians characterized by matrix product states. In the preceding paper, the author provided a list of physical properties that the ground state of the Hamiltonian must satisfy, and the purpose of the present paper is to prove the converse: a system which satisfies these properties complies with the above matrix representation. Essentially, the proof of this result works via a special class of gapped Hamiltonians on quantum spins introduced by the author.
