The paper is devoted to the construction of asymptotic formulas for solutions of a linear second-order delay differential equation \[ \ddot{x}-q(t)x(t-h)=0,\quad h>0,\quad t\geq t_0>0, \] where the coefficient \(q\) is the so-called Wigner-von Neumann type potential defined by \[ q(t)=\frac{p(t)}{t^{\rho}},\quad \rho>0. \] Here, the function \(p\) is a real trigonometric polynomial having zero mean value. Since \(q\) is oscillatory, known methods in the literature fail. For deriving the asymptotic solutions, the asymptotic integration method and Levinson's theorem are the main tools. The obtained asymptotic formulas are discussed and compared with those of the non-delay case.
