New families of tilings of the Euclidean plane by congruent copies of one convex pentagon or hexagon are presented. For every \(n \in \{1,2,\ldots\}\), there are examples with symmetry groups \(\mathbf C_n\) (\(n\)-fold rotational symmetry) and \(\mathbf D_n\) (\(n\) rotations and \(n\) axes of reflection).
