This work deals with the interior transmission eigenvalue problem for a spherically stratified medium supported in the domain. Based on Rundell and Sacks' idea the inverse problem of recovering the refractive index of the medium from the spectrum of the problem in the critical case, is studied. It is known that, in general, for unique determination of the refractive index of the medium it is necessary to specify along with the spectrum also an additional constant which is the ratio of the characteristic determinants of the problem. In this work, the authors provide several algorithms of recovering the refractive index of the medium from the spectrum divided by three subcases. The results are interesting and valuable.
