Expansive automorphisms of totally disconnected, locally compact groups (Q524637): Difference between revisions

The authors study expansive topological automorphisms of a totally disconnected locally compact group. Their main result is that the automorphism induced by an expansive automorphism on a quotient group modulo a stable closed normal subgroup, is always expansive. Further results involve contraction groups, their divisible and torsion parts, and their associated ``nub'' expansive automorphism.
