In [Topology Appl. 156, No. 7, 1298--1305 (2009; Zbl 1166.54016)], \textit{M. Tkachenko} posed the problem to characterize the projectively metrizable paratopological groups, i.e., the subgroups of topological products of metrizable paratopological groups. The present paper gives an answer to the above problem. The author proves that if \(G\) is a regular semitopological group, then \(G\) admits a homeomorphic embedding as a subgroup into a product of metrizable semitopological groups if and only if \(G\) has property (*) and countable index of regularity.
