On LYZ's conjecture for the \(U\)-functional (Q2356768): Difference between revisions

The authors give an affirmative answer to Conjecture 2 of \textit{E. Lutwak} et al. [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 353, No. 5, 1767--1779 (2001; Zbl 0971.52011)]. It refers to a comparison between the volume and the cone volume functional of a convex polytope in \(\mathbb{R}^{n}\) with its John point at the origin. The inequalities obtained in this paper are sharp in case of simplexes. Two inequalities characterizing the centered cone volume measure of a convex body in a non-symmetric case are obtained as intermediary results. One of them is sharp in case of cylinders and the other one is sharp in case of cones.
