The authors announce several results related to sharp inequalities for algebraic polynomials between the uniform norm and the \( L_q^{(\alpha,\beta)}\)-norm with the Jacobi weight. They extend their former results from \textit{V. Arestov} and \textit{M. Deikalova} [Proc. Steklov Inst. Math. 284, S9--S23 (2014; Zbl 1315.41003); translation from Tr. Inst. Mat. Mekh. (Ekaterinburg) 19, No. 2, 34--47 (2013); Comput. Methods Funct. Theory 15, No. 4, 689--708 (2015; Zbl 1329.41012)] to the case \( \alpha >\beta\geq -1/2, 1\leq q<\infty \) (Theorem 1). An important tool of the study is the generalized translation operator \( \Theta_t:\,L_q^{(\alpha,\beta)}\rightarrow L_q^{(\alpha,\beta)}, \) and the extremal functions at which the norm of the operator is attained. A fragment of the proof of Theorem 1 is given to show the usefulness of properties of \( \Theta_t. \)
