In this paper, the author proves a special case of a conjecture of Dao-Kurano about the vanishing of Hochster's theta pairing. The Dao-Kurano conjecture was proposed in [\textit{H. Dao} and \textit{K. Kurano}, J. K-Theory 14, No. 3, 495--525 (2014; Zbl 1326.13013)], which says that for finitely generated \(A\)-modules \(M\) and \(N\), if \(A\) is a local hypersurface of Krull dimension \(d\) with isolated singularity and \(\dim M\leq d/2\), then the Hochster's theta pairing \(\theta(M,N)=0\). In this paper, the author study the case that \(A=R_{\mathfrak{m}}\) where \(R=\mathbb{C}[x_1,\cdots, x_n]/(f)\), \(f\in \mathfrak{m}:=(x_1,\cdots,x_n)\subseteq \mathbb{C}[x_1,\cdots, x_n]\). He proves that if \(R_{\mathfrak{m}}\) has an isolated singularity and \(\dim M\leq(n-1)/2\), then \(\theta(M,N)=0\). The proof of it relies on the properties of the Adams operations on \(K\)-theory, which is inspired of the construction of the intersection theory of the arithmetic \(K\)-theory by Gillet-Soulé.
