    The author gives a short elementary proof of a conjecture by Rasa (see [\textit{J. Mrowiec} et al., J. Math. Anal. Appl. 446, No. 1, 864--878 (2017; Zbl 1375.26040)]), which is an inequality involving Bernstein basis polynomials and convex functions. The conjecture was proved by Mrowiec et al. [loc. cit.] by the use of stochastic convex orderings. Moreover, the author proves the corresponding results for the Mirakyan-Favard-Szász operators \[ (S_n f )(x) = e^{-nx} \sum_{\nu =0}^{\infty} \frac{(nx)^\nu }{\nu ! } f \left( \frac{\nu }{n}\right) \quad (x \in [0, \infty)) \] and the Baskakov operstors \[ (V_n f) (x) = \sum_{\nu=0}^{\infty} \begin{pmatrix} n+\nu-1 \\ \nu \end{pmatrix} \frac{x^\nu }{ (1+x)^{n+\nu}} f \left( \frac{\nu }{n}\right) \quad (x \in [0, \infty)) \] for each function \(f\) of exponential growth on \([0, \infty)\). The article is systematically well-organized. The results are useful for beginners in the theory of inequalities involving Bernstein basis polynomials and convex functions.
