The Rogers' dilogarithm \(L_2: (0,1)\to\mathbb{R}\) defined by \[ L_2(x):=-\frac{1}{2}\int_{0}^{x}\left(\frac{\log t}{1-t}+\frac{\log(1-t)}{t}\right)dt \] can be derived from the Spence-Abel system of functional equations: \[ \begin{cases} L_2(x)-L_2(y)-L_2\left(\frac{x}{y}\right)-L_2\left(\frac{y-1}{x-1}\right)+L_2\left(\frac{x(y-1)}{y(x-1)}\right)=0,\\ L_2(1-x)=\zeta(2)-L_2(x) \end{cases} \] (\(0< x< y< 1\)) where \(\zeta\) denotes the Riemann zeta function. The authors present a detailed study on a perturbed Spence-Abel system: \[ \begin{cases} L(x)-L(y)-L\left(\frac{x}{y}\right)-L\left(\frac{y-1}{x-1}\right)+L\left(\frac{x(y-1)}{y(x-1)}\right)=R(x,y),\\ L(1-x)=C-L(x). \end{cases} \] Using deep cohomological interpretations and methods they consider existence, uniqueness and regularity of solutions of the above system. Finally, as an application, they get the Hyers-Ulam stability for the considered equation. Namely, they prove the theorem: Let \(L: (0,1)\to\mathbb{R}\) be a measurable function such that \[ \sup_{x,y\in(0,1)}\left|L(x)-L(y)-L\left(\frac{x}{y}\right)-L\left(\frac{y-1}{x-1}\right)+L\left(\frac{x(y-1)}{y(x-1)}\right)\right|\leq\varepsilon \] and \[ L(1-x)=C-L(x),\qquad x\in (0,1), \] for some \(\varepsilon> 0\) and \(C\in\mathbb{R}\). Then \[ \|L-L_2\|_{\infty}\leq 29\,\varepsilon+15\,|C-\zeta(2)|. \]
