    Consider on the interval \([0,T] \subset \mathbb{R}\), \(T>0\), the ordinary differential equation of second order with \(\phi\)-Laplacian \[ (\phi(z'(t)))' = f(t,z(t),z'(t)) \text{ for a.e. } t\in [0,T] \tag{1} \] subject to the state-dependent impulsive conditions \[ \Delta \phi(z'(t)) = M_i(t,z(t)) \text{ for } t=\tau_i(t,z(t)), i=1,\dots,p\tag{2} \] and periodic conditions \[ z(0)=z(T), \;z'(0)=z'(T),\tag{3} \] where \(\phi : \mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R}\) is an increasing homeomorphism, \(\phi(\mathbb{R})=\mathbb{R}, \phi(0)=0\); \(f:[0,T] \times \mathbb{R}^2 \to \mathbb{R}\) satisfies the Carathéodory conditions; \(M_i: [0,T] \times \mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R}\) and \(\tau_i: [0,T] \times \mathbb{R} \to (0,T)\) are continuous for \(i=1,\dots,p, \;p \in \mathbb{N}\); \(\Delta \phi(z'(t)) = \phi(z'(t+)) - \phi(z'(t-)), t \in (0,T)\), where \(z(t\pm)=\lim\limits_{s \to t\pm} z(s)\) for a function \(z:\mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R}\) and \(t \in \mathbb{R}\). First, the author considers an auxiliary Dirichlet-like boundary value problem with state-dependent impulses replacing the periodic conditions (3) by the boundary condition \[ z(0)=z(T)=a(0,z(0),z'(0),z'(T)),\tag{4} \] where \(a: \mathbb{R}^4 \to \mathbb{R}\) is continuous. For the problem (1), (2) and (4) using Schauder's fixed point theorem the author proves sufficient conditions for the existence of at least one solution. The main result of this paper is obtained from the sufficient conditions for the existence of at least one solution of the problem (1), (2) and (3). The conditions are formulated in terms of upper and lower functions. The proof of the theorem consists in a priori bounds using lower and upper functions and in the application of the obtained existence result concerning the auxiliary problem (1), (2) and (4).
