The authors propose a numerical method for solving a very restricted class of boundary value problems with a second-order differential operator and a Caputo type fractional differential operator of order \(\alpha \in (0,1)\). The method is of collocation type and is based on exponential splines. An error bound is derived under the extremely strong assumption that the exact solution is in \(C^6\).
