The authors start with a network of identical nodes, each described by a delay differential equation with time-dependent delay. The nodes are diffusively coupled to some of their neighbours through their current state, and to others through their delayed state. Two of these networks are then considered, and impulsive controls are added at specific times to specific nodes in the response network. These controls depend on the difference in states of the corresponding nodes in the two networks and the objective is to synchronise the drive and response networks. The authors consider a Lyapunov functional and derive conditions under which the two networks will synchronise. They demonstrate their results using two examples.
