The authors consider the problem of selecting the populations which yield the largest sample means. The populations are selected from a certain number of independent populations by minimizing the corresponding coverage probabilities. This minimization method allows one to select the best population or to select the top \(k\) populations. After the selections are made, the corresponding population means are estimated by the simultaneous confidence intervals.
