For a domain \(\Omega\subset\mathbb C^n\) let \[ \begin{aligned} L^p(\Omega)&:=\bigg\{f:\Omega\longrightarrow\mathbb C:\Big(\int_{\Omega}|f|^p\,dV\Big)^{1/p}=:\|f\|_p<\infty\bigg\},\\ A^p(\Omega)&:=\{f\in L^p(\Omega): f\text{ is holomorphic}\}, \end{aligned} \] where \(dV\) is the Lebesgue measure on \(\mathbb C^n\), and let \(B_{\Omega}\) be the Bergman projection. The main aim of the paper under review is to study the \(L^p\) boundedness of the Bergman projection for the generalized Hartogs triangle \[ \mathbb H_{\gamma}:=\{(z_1,z_2)\in\mathbb C^2:|z_1|^{\gamma}<|z_2|<1\},\quad \gamma>0. \] The authors prove the following theorem. 1. Let \(m,n\in\mathbb Z^+\), gcd\((m,n)=1\). Then the Bergman projection \(B_{\mathbb H_{m/n}}:L^p(\mathbb H_{m/n})\longrightarrow A^p(\mathbb H_{m/n})\) is bounded if and only if \(p\in(2(m+n)/(m+n+1),2(m+n)/(m+n-1))\). 2. Let \(\gamma>0\) be irrational. Then the Bergman projection \(B_{\mathbb H_{m/n}}:L^p(\mathbb H_{m/n})\longrightarrow A^p(\mathbb H_{m/n})\) is bounded if and only if \(p=2\). Moreover, the authors prove that the Bergman kernel of \(\mathbb H_{\gamma}\) has zeroes for all \(\gamma\geq2\). The above theorems are generalizations of the results obtained by \textit{L.~Edholm} [Pac. J. Math. Journal Profile 284, No. 2, 327--342 (2016; Zbl 1351.32007)] and by \textit{L.~Edholm} and \textit{J.~McNeal} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. Journal Profile 144, No. 5, 2185--2196 (2016; Zbl 1337.32010)].
