The authors investigate some periodically excited nonlinear equations, like the excited Van der Pol and Van der Pol-Duffing systems. Combining a Fourier expansion method with a homotopy technique to connect the solutions of the linear system to the solutions of the considered system, the authors prove that by using sufficiently many terms the time evolution of the system can be approximated with high accuracy.
