Silting objects were introduced by \textit{B. Keller} and \textit{D. Vossieck} in [Bull. Soc. Math. Belg., Sér. A 40, No. 2, 239--253 (1988; Zbl 0671.18003)] as a generalisation of tilting objects. The main aim of the present paper is to prove that if a finite dimensional \(k\)-algebra \(\Lambda\) satisfies a finiteness condition (called silting-discrete) then every bounded \(t\)-structure on the derived category \(D^b(\Lambda)\) is induced by a silting object. This allows the authors to apply some similar techniques as those used in [\textit{N. Broomhead} et al., J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 93, No. 2, 273--300 (2016; Zbl 1376.16006)] and in [\textit{Y. Qiu} and \textit{J. Woolf}, Geom. Topol. 22, No. 6, 3701--3760 (2018; Zbl 1423.18044)] in order to prove that in the above hypotheses the stability manifold \(\mathrm{stab}(D^b(\Lambda))\) is contractible.
