For an integrable non-negative function $w(z)$ on the unit disc $\mathbb D$, the Bergman space $A^p_w$ is the space of holomorphic functions $f$ on $\mathbb D$ for which \[ \|f\|_{A^p_w}^p = \int_{\mathbb D} |f(z)|^p w(z) dm(z) <\infty. \] The weight $w_\alpha = (1-r^2)^\alpha,\, \alpha >-1$, gives the standard Bergman spaces $A^p_\alpha$. If the weight $w$ is continuous, then $A^p_w$ is a closed subspace of $L^p(\mathbb D,w)$ and point evaluation is a continuous linear functional. As a consequence, for such a weight $w$, $A^2_w$ has a reproducing kernel $K_z\in A^2_w$. The Bergman projection $P_w: L^2(\mathbb D,w) \to A^2_w$ is the integral operator given by \[ P_w(f)(z) = \int_{\mathbb D} f(\zeta)\overline{K_z(\zeta)} w(\zeta) dm(\zeta). \] It is well known that for the standard weights $w_\alpha$ the Bergman projection $P_{w_\alpha}$ is bounded from $L^p(\mathbb D,w_\alpha)$ onto $A^p_\alpha$ if and only if $1<p<\infty$. On the other hand, in [Proc. Edinb. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 47, No. 1, 111--117 (2004; Zbl 1077.47020)] \textit{M. R. Dostanić} proved that for exponential type weights $w(r) = (1-r^2)^A\exp(\frac{-B}{(1-r^2)^\alpha})$, $A\in\mathbb R$, $B, \alpha >0$, boundednes of the Bergman projection on $L^p(\mathbb D,w)$ only occurs for $p=2$. \par In the present paper the authors prove that for the weights $v(r) = \exp({\frac{-\alpha}{1-r}})$ ,$\alpha>0$, and $1\le p <\infty$, the Bergman projection $P_v$ is bounded from $L^p(\mathbb D, v^{p/2})$ to $A^p_{v^{p/2}}$. As a consequence the authors prove that the dual of $A^p_{v^{p/2}}$, $p\ge 1$, is $A^q_{v^{q/2}}$, where $\frac1{p} + \frac1{q} =1$. In the paper the authors also consider analogous problems in weighted Fock space.
