Summary: We show that local minimizers of the Canham-Helfrich energy are asymptotically stable with respect to a model for relaxational fluid vesicle dynamics that we already studied in previous papers [\textit{M. Köhne} and the author, J. Evol. Equ. 18, No. 4, 1787--1818 (2018; Zbl 1405.35226); the author, ``On a Stokes-type system arising in fluid vesicle dynamics'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1506.08991}]. The proof is based on a Łojasiewicz-Simon inequality.
