On zeros of some entire functions (Q5894532): Difference between revisions

This work was inspired by a paper of \textit{R. Zhang} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 145, No. 1, 241--250 (2017; Zbl 1368.30012)], where it was established that some entire functions representing generalizations of Ramanujan's entire function \(A_q(z), \) \(q\)-Bessel functions \(J_{\nu}^{(2)}(z;q),\) \(J_{\nu}^{(3)}(z;q)\) and confluent basic hypergeometric series, have only real zeros. In the present paper the author continues this investigation. In particular he proves that all zeros of the entire function \[A_q^{(\alpha)}(q^l; z)= 1+\sum_{k=1}^{\infty} \frac{(1-q^l)(1-q^{l+1})\cdots (1-q^{l+k-1})}{(1-q)(1-q^2)\cdots (1-q^k)}q^{\alpha k^2}z^k, \] with \( l=2,3,\ldots\), \(\alpha >0\), \(0<q<1\), are negative. Some results on zeros of certain entire functions involving the Rogers-Szegő polynomials and the Stieltjes-Wigert polynomials are also established.
