In this paper the authors extend the use of ``relative entropy methods'' in interacting particle systems, so that they can be used for possibly irreversible evolutions, and in the presence of phase transitions. It is shown for non-degenerate systems that under a ``nonnullness'' (finite-energy) condition, if there exist a stationary measure which is a Gibbs measure, then all weak limits of evolving measures will be Gibbs measures for the same specification. Their use of relative entropy methods allow one to avoid a number of nonlocality issues which may occur if evolved measures can become non-Gibbsian.
