Consider the Kontorovich-Lebedev integral transform of a function \(F(s)\), \[ f(x):=\frac{2}{\pi^2}\int_0^\infty s\sinh(\pi s)K_{is}(x)F(s)ds, \] where \(K_\nu(x)\) is a modified Bessel function. Assume that \(F(s)\) is an even function, analytic in a strip of the form \(\vert\Im(s)\vert<\beta\), with poles of the first and second order only and situated at the points \(s_n=\pm i\beta_n\), where \(\beta<\Re(\beta_n)<\Re(\beta_{n+1})\) and \(\vert\Im(\beta_n)\vert<c\) for \(n=0,1,2,3,\dots\), and \(F(s)\) has a certain behavior at the infinity. Then the author shows that, for \(N=1,2,3,\dots\), \[ f(x)=2i\sum\left(\frac{x}{2}\right)^{\beta_n+2m}\left[C_{n,m}+B_{n,m}\log\left(\frac{2}{x}\right)\right]+o(x^{\mu_N}), \hskip 1cm x\to 0, \] where the coefficients \(C_{n,m}\) and \(B_{n,m}\) are given in terms of the poles and residua of \(F(s)\), and the summation is over the values \(n=0,1,2,\dots,N-1\) and \(m=0,1,2,\dots,\) such that \(\Re(\beta_n)+2m<\mu_N\), where \(\mu_N\) is chosen so that \(\Re(\beta_{N-1})<\mu_N<\Re(\beta_N)\). This result extends a previous result derived in [\textit{R. Wong}, Appl. Anal. 12, 161--172 (1981; Zbl 0475.44002)] relaxing the conditions required for the validity of the expansion.
