A large number of operations and algorithms have been proposed to deal with multicomponent signals when several underlying processes contribute to the output signal. Time series segmentation is an essential part of modern digital signal processing (DSP) field and serves as a tool for advanced signal interpretation and machine learning methods. The main result of this manuscript (Theorem 2) focused on the investigation of the window variance noise component as a random variable for a multicomponent signal model.
