The authors propose a virtual element method for the coupled Stokes-Darcy problem with Beaver-Joseph-Saffman interface condition. The proposed method can improve computational efficiency and treat any polygonal elements, including non-convex and non-matching elements. Optimal error estimates are derived and several numerical results are provided to support the theoretical results.
