In order to describe certain combinatorial situations, the authors introduce second kind Stirling numbers \(S_{B} (n,k)\) and \(S_{D} (n,k)\) of types \(B\) and \(D\) correspondingly. Likewise they define Eulerian numbers \(A_{B} (n,k)\) of type \(B\) and Eulerian numbers \(A_{D} (n,k)\) of type \(D\). Then they prove several identities connecting these numbers. For example, it is shown that \(S_{B} (n,m)=\frac{1}{2^{m} m!} \sum _{k=0}^{m}\binom{n-k}{m-k} A_{B} (n,k)\) for all positive integers \(n\), \(m\) with \(n\ge m\).
