This article proposes an impulsive semi-dynamic system of relationships between plankton and herbivores. The authors applied the Poincaré mapping method for a comprehensive analysis of the dynamic properties of the system. In addition, feedback control is used for the stable survival of plankton and herbivores. At start, a model is introduced and the conditions for the existence and stability of the equilibrium point of the model are analyzed. Then the Poincaré map of the model is determined and its main properties are studied: monotonicity, continuity, fixed point and extremum. The existence, local and global stability of a periodic solution of order 1 are discussed, and sufficient conditions for the local stability of a periodic boundary solution are derived. The existence of a periodic solution of order \(k\) \((k\geq 2)\) is obtained from the proof of the existence of a periodic solution of order 3. The theoretical results are confirmed by numerical simulation. New results of the article are: an impulse semi-dynamic system uses a new impulse shape, and the control parameters change in accordance with the real situation; the Poincaré map is used as a tool for a more complete dynamic analysis of the system. The existence and stability of a periodic solution of order 1 is proved, and a necessary and sufficient condition for the global stability of a periodic solution of order 1 and a condition for the existence of a periodic solution of order \(k\) \((k\geq 2)\) are obtained; analysis and numerical modeling of the model showed the practical biological significance of its complex dynamics.
