The author generalizes the definition of higher weights for linear codes given by Wei and introduces a definition of generalized rank weight for rank metric codes. Then, in the spirit of the work of Tsfasman and Vladut, these weight are placed in a geometric setting. Within this framework the author gives a complete classification of constant rank weight codes and determines their generalized rank weights.
