The authors study the asymptotic behavior of periodically perforated elastic plate or beam structures, which are suitable for a dimension reduction scenario. As the domain occupied by the structure might have a non-Lipschitz boundary, the classical homogenization approach based on extension in Sobolev spaces is prone to failure. Hence, for obtaining Korn's inequalities needed in the derivation of a priori estimates, the authors use instead an approach based on interpolation as well as on (periodic) unfolding.
