In this paper, the authors characterize the structure of minimal ideals $K(\beta S)$, when the left minimal ideals of $\beta S$ have isolated points. In Theorem 2.5, the authors prove that each minimal left ideal of $\beta S$ has an isolated point if and only if there is a piecewise syndetic $QC$-set in $S$, Definition 2.4. Also, they prove that if $S$ is weakly right cancellative and left cancellative, then there is no minimal left ideal of $\beta S$ that has an isolated point. And they prove that the Stone-Čech compactification $\beta S$ of $S$ has a unique minimal right ideal or $\beta S$ has at least $2^c$ minimal right ideals when $S$ is an infinite commutative semigroup. The definition of a rectangular semigroup is introduced in Definition 3.5. Let $A$ and $B$ be nonempty sets. Then $R(A,B)$ is $A\times B$ with the rectangular semigroup operation defined by $(a,b)\cdot(c,d) = (a,d)$. In Theorem 4.3 some extended results for the rectangular semigroup $S = R(A,B)$ are stated. In particular, (11) in Theorem 4.3 is very interesting, it is a characterization of minimal ideals of the rectangular semigroup when either $A$ or $B$ is finite. Also, one can find another version of Theorem 4.3 as Theorem 4.4 when $(B,\vee)$ is a semilattice. Finally, the authors prove that $K(\beta S)$ is not a Borel subset of $\beta S$ under some conditions.
