The authors consider Riemannian maps and Riemannian submersions to obtain optimal inequalities in the theory of Riemannian maps, Riemannian submersions to space forms. The method is based on Casorati curvature. The important results in this work are described in the following sections: Riemannian maps to real space forms, Riemannian maps to complex space forms, submersions from space forms. Casorati curvature \(C^H(L^H)\) is defined by the relation: \(C^H(L^H)= \frac 1k\|\zeta^H\|^2\). The authors prove the following theorem: ``Let \(F\) be a Riemannian submersion from a real space form \((M^m(c),g_M)\) to a Riemannian manifold \((N^n,g_N)\) with \(r\)-dimensional vertical space, \(r\ge 3\). Then, the normalized \(\delta\)-vertical Casorati curvatures \(\delta^\nu_c\) and \(\widehat{\delta}^\nu_c\) on the vertical space satisfy \(\rho^\nu\le\delta^\nu_c(n-1)+c\), \(\rho^\nu\le\widehat {\delta}^\nu_c(n-1)+c\). Moreover, the equality case holds in any of the above two inequalities at a point \(p\in M\) if and only if with respect to a suitable orthonormal bases \(\{e_1,\dots,e_n\}\) on the vertical space \(\text{Ker}\,F_{*p}\) and \(\{V_{l+1},\dots,V_n\}\) on the horizontal space \((\text{Ker}\,F_{*p})^\perp\), the components of \(T^h\) satisfy: \[ T^{h^a}_{1^1}=T^{h^a}_{2^2}=\cdots=T^{h^a}_{r-1r-1}=\frac 12 T^{h^a}_{rr},\ a\in\{r+1,\dots,n\}, \] \[ T^{h^a}_{ij}=0,\ i,j\in \{1,2,\dots,r\}(i\neq j),\ a\in\{r+1,\dots,n\}.\text{''} \] Certain examples are given. The work is organized well and is generally easy to read.
