Based on author's abstract: In the present paper, the author studies the supersingular locus of the \(\text{GU}(2, 2)\) type Shimura variety at an odd prime \(p\) which is unramified in the imaginary quadratic field. The supersingular locus of this Shimura variety can be related to the basic Rapoport-Zink space whose special fibre is described by the Bruhat-Tits stratification. When \(p\) is odd and inert in the corresponding imaginary quadratic field, the results are already known to \textit{B. Howard} and \textit{G. Pappas} [Algebra Number Theory 8, No. 7, 1659--1699 (2014; Zbl 1315.11049)]. Their method exploits the exceptional isomorphism between \(\text{SU}(2, 2)\) and \(\text{Spin}(4, 2)\). The author's method is more direct without using the exceptional isomorphism.
