On a complex projective manifold \(X\), a line bundle \(L\) is \textit{strictly nef} if \(L\cdot C>0\) for each irreducible curve \(C \subset X\). Ampleness implies strict nefness but there are examples of strictly nef non-ample line bundles. These notions naturally generalize to higher rank vector bundles \(E\) in terms of its tautological bundle. The goal of this paper is to explore to which extent results on ample vector bundles are valid on strictly nef vector bundles: for instance (see Thm. 1.2) the dual vector bundle does not have global sections (in both situations). The ampleness of the determinant of a strictly nef vector bundle is conjectured on \(X\) with nef anticanonical bundle (see Conj. 1.4) and the result is proved under the additional hypothesis on the anticanonical to be big. Moreover, is known (see Thm. 1.6 in the paper under review and references therein) that the strictly nefness of the tangent bundle characterizes the projective space, generalizing the famous Mori's result, and is conjectured (see Conj. 1.7) that the strict nefness of the anticanonical bundle (resp. the canonical, see Conj. 1.9) implies its ampleness. As a first step towards the conjecture, it is proved (see Thm. 1.8) that the strict nefness of the anticanonical bundle implies that \(X\) is rationally connected. Finally, together with an adjunction-theory conjecture (Conj. 1.10), some results on manifolds whose tangent admits a strictly nef subsheaf are presented: in Thm. 1.11 the presence of this subsheaf produces a \({\mathbb P}^d\)-bundle structure on the manifold; in Thm. 1.12 is shown that if the fundamental group is vitually sovable then \(X\) is \({\mathbb P}^n\) and the subsheaf is either the tangent or \({\mathcal O}_{{\mathbb P}^n}(1)^{\oplus r}\).
