Let \(X\) be a reduced projective curve with planar singularities. If \(X\) is reducible, it can have many fine compactified Jacobians in the sense of \textit{E. Esteves} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 353, No. 8, 3045--3095 (2001; Zbl 0974.14009)], which depend on the choice of a polarization on \(X\). These fine compactified Jacobians are birational (and possibly non-isomorphic) Calabi-Yau varieties with locally complete intersection singularities. The authors define a Poincaré sheaf on the product of any two (possibly equal) fine compactified Jacobians of \(X\). Their main result shows that the integral transform with kernel the Poincaré sheaf is an equivalence of their derived categories, which thus defines a Fourier-Mukai transform. The authors provide two interprerations for the result. When the two fine compactified Jacobians are equal, the above Fourier-Mukai transform provides a natural autoequivalence of the derived category of any fine compactified Jacobian of \(X\), which generalizes the previous results of \textit{S. Mukai} for smooth curves [Nagoya Math. J. 81, 153--175 (1981; Zbl 0417.14036)] and of \textit{D. Arinkin} for integral curves with planar singularities [J. Algebr. Geom. 22, No. 2, 363--388 (2013; Zbl 1376.14029)]. When the two fine compactified Jacobians are different, the Fourier-Mukai transform provides a natural equivalence of their derived categories, hence it implies that any two fine compactified Jacobians of \(X\) are derived equivalent.
