One can obtain the particle physics of our universe from F-theory compactifications on the elliptically fibered geometries. The gauge group and matter contents (representations of the gauge group) in the standard model of particle physics can be understood via geometric compactification of the F-theory. The geometry of gauge groups is well understood in F-theory. However, the geometry of matter representations has only been worked out in a limited set of cases, and there is no general classification of the range of possibilities. The author of this paper continued to understand the matter contents in F-theory from some of the mathematical enumerative invariants of target geometries. More specifically, the author of this work tried to extract the matter content of F-theory compactifications from the Gromov-Witten invariants of the compactification manifold \(X\). In section 2, the author has reviewed the physics fact: to determine the field content of an F-theory compactification on a variety \(X\) requires identifying the divisors \(D^{i}\) and the irreducible curves \(C\) occurring in \(X\) and computing their intersection numbers. In section 3, the author built a map \(\phi\) from the root lattice of the Lie algebra of the gauge group to the space spanned by classes of curves of \(X\). Then, in section 4, the author used mirror symmetry to deal with all irreducible curves in \(X\). Finally, in section 5, the author extended the map \(\phi\) over \(\mathbb{Q}\) such that it can access the weight lattice of the Lie algebra. These representations can be identified as matters in particle physics. Besides the above focus, the author also defined and computed the so-called toric Mori cone of \(X\). After the calculation, the author, by using mirror symmetry, found that for many examples, the toric Mori cone coincides with the actual Mori cone of the Calabi-Yau manifold \(X\) whenever the toric Mori cone is smooth.
