    Let \(A\) and \(B\) be positive invertible operators on a complex Hilbert space. The author gives upper and lower bounds of difference and ratio between operator arithmetic mean \(A\nabla_{\nu}B\) and operator harmonic mean \(A !_{\nu}B\), where \(\nu\in [0,1]\) is a weight parameter of operator means. In fact, the following inequalities are obtained. Assume that \(mA\leq B\leq MA\) for positive numbers \( 0 < m < M \). Then \[ c(\nu, m, M)A\nabla_{-\infty}B\leq A\nabla_{\nu}B - A !_{\nu}B \leq C(\nu, m, M)A\nabla_{+\infty}B \] and \[ d(\nu, m, M)A !_{\nu}B \leq A\nabla_{\nu}B\leq D(\nu, m, M)A !_{\nu}B \] hold, where \(c(\nu, m, M)\), \(C(\nu, m, M)\), \(d(\nu, m, M)\) and \(D(\nu, m, M)\) are positive functions of \(\nu, m, M\) which are related to the Kantorovich constant, and \(A\nabla_{\pm\infty}B\) are defined by \[ A\nabla_{\pm\infty}B=A^{\frac{1}{2}}f_{\pm \infty}(A^{\frac{-1}{2}}BA^{\frac{-1}{2}})A^{\frac{1}{2}}, \] where \[ f_{\pm \infty}(x)=\frac{1}{2}(x+1)\pm \frac{1}{2}|x-1|. \] We notice that \(f_{+\infty}(x)=\max\{x,1\}\) and \(f_{-\infty}(x)=\min\{x,1\}\).
