By analogy with the concept of Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity, for coherent sheaves on projective varieties, in the present article, the authors study a concept of continuous CM-regularity for sheaves on abelian varieties. The main result establishes that continuous CM-regularity is a numerical property for semihomogeneous vector bundles. It builds on earlier work of the reviewer [Int. J. Math. 25, No. 4, Article ID 1450036, 31 p. (2014; Zbl 1297.14049)]. The authors' second result shows that if the first Chern class of a semihomogeneous vector bundle \(E\), on a polarized \(g\)-dimensional abelian variety \(X\), is proportional to the given polarization, then its continuous CM-regularity is extremal, in the sense that it equals the smallest integer \(m\) for which the vector bundle \(E(m-g)\) is a generic vanishing sheaf. This result builds on \textit{M. G. Gulbrandsen} [Matematiche 63, No. 1, 123--137 (2008; Zbl 1189.14049)]. Finally, the authors explore specific instances of their results. These include consequences for Verlinde bundles and products of abelian varieties.
