This paper deals with nonlinear streaming effects associated with oscillatory motion in viscoelastic liquids. The fluid flow may be generated by a pulsating pressure or by oscillating boundaries, for instance by the linear oscillation of a body immersed in the liquid. Under the assumption of sufficiently small deformation amplitude, the theory is based on the second-order integral approximation for incompressible simple fluids. Using a perturbation technique, the extra stresses are connected to the Eulerian velocity field. The special case of harmonic time dependence of the stimulation is investigated in detail.
