The concept of metric algebras (also known as quadratic algebras) were first introduced in 1957 by S. T. Tsou and A. G. Walker. In the mid-1980s, metric Lie algebras first appeared in an article of K. H. Hofmann and V. S. Keith (1986) as well as in the paper [\textit{G. Favre} and \textit{L. J. Santharoubane}, J. Algebra 105, 451--464 (1987; Zbl 0608.17007)]. A Lie algebra is said to be metric if it admits a symmetric invariant and non-degenerated bilinear form. In recent decades, metric Lie algebras have been studied by many mathematicians around the world. However, the study of the complete invariant system of metric Lie algebras as well as the problem of classifying them are very complicated and so far is still open. On the other hand, in noncommutative geometry and related branches of mathematics, cyclic cohomology are certain cohomology theories for associative algebras which generalize the de Rham cohomology of manifolds. These notions were introduced by Alain Connes in the 1980s. In 1995, the second author of the paper, \textit{M. Penkava} and \textit{A. Schwarz} [Transl., Ser. 2, Am. Math. Soc. 169, 91--107 (1995; Zbl 0863.17017)] studied the cyclic cohomology of associative algebras with invariant inner products and the connection between cyclic cohomology and deformations of these algebras preserving an invariant inner product. \textit{M. Penkava} [``\(L_{\infty }\) algebras and their cohomology'', Preprint, q-alg 9512014 (1995); ``Infinity algebras, cohomology and cyclic cohomology, and infinitesimal deformations'', Preprint, math.QA/0111088 (2002)] continues to study the cyclic cohomology of Lie algebras in which he shows that cyclic cohomology classifies deformations preserving the invariant inner product on Lie algebras. Thus, it can be confirmed that the cyclic cohomology plays an important role in the study of deformations preserving an invariant inner product on Lie algebras. This paper can be considered as a continuation of the studies of the two preprints of the second author M. Penkava cited above. Namely, using the results of paper [\textit{Pham Tien Dat} et al., East-West J. Math. 14, No. 2, 208--218 (2012; Zbl 1285.17005)] (of the reviewer and his collaborators in 2012) about the classification of all non-commutative metric Lie algebras over \(\mathbb{C}\) and \(\mathbb{R}\) up to dimension 5 and all metric Lie algebras over \(\mathbb{C}\) in dimension 6, the authors introduce cyclic and reduced cyclic cohomology to identify their metric deformations. [Michael Penkava passed away on September 6, 2020.]
