Let \(X\) be a Banach space. Recall that a point \(x\in S_X\) is said to be: \begin{itemize} \item[1.] a Daugavet point if, given any slice \(S\) of \(B_X\) and any \(\varepsilon>0\), there exists \(y\in S\) such that \(\Vert y-x\Vert>2-\varepsilon\), \item[2.] a \(\Delta\)-point if, given any slice \(S\) of \(B_X\) containing \(x\) and any \(\varepsilon>0\), there exists \(y\in S\) such that \(\Vert y-x\Vert>2-\varepsilon\). \end{itemize} The above mentioned notions were introduced in [\textit{T. A. Abrahamsen} et al., Proc. Edinb. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 63, No. 2, 475--496 (2020; Zbl 1445.46009)] and, since then, the study of Daugavet and \(\Delta\)-points has been performed in many different families of Banach spaces. In the paper under review, Daugavet and \(\Delta\)-points are studied in Banach spaces generated by an adequate family. In order to properly establish the main results of the paper, let us introduce a bit of notation. A family \(\mathcal A\) of subsets of \(\mathbb N\) is adequate if it contains singletons, is hereditary and compact with respect to the pointwise convergence topology of \(\mathcal P(\mathbb N)\). Given an adequate family \(\mathcal A\) and \(1\leq p<\infty\), the space \(h_{\mathcal A,p}\) is the completion of the finitely-supported sequences space \(c_{00}\) under the norm given by \[ \left\Vert\sum_{i=1}^n a_ie_i \right\Vert=\sup_{A\in\mathcal A}\left(\sum_{i\in A} \vert a_i\vert^p \right)^\frac{1}{p}. \] One of the main results in the paper is that neither \(h_{\mathcal A,p}\) nor its dual may contain any \(\Delta\)-point if \(1<p<\infty\). This is proved in Theorem~3.1. Section 4 is devoted to the study of \(h_{\mathcal A,1}\). The authors conclude, among other results, that \(h_{\mathcal A, 1}\) does not contain \(\Delta\)-points if \(\mathcal A\) consists of finite sets and, under extra assumptions on the family \(\mathcal A\), its dual fails to contain \(\Delta\)-points, too. In Section 4, the authors make use of a description of the set of extreme points of the unit ball of \(h_{\mathcal A,1}^*\). In Section 5, the authors make use of this description in order to analyse different notions of polyhedrality in \(h_{\mathcal A,1}\), proving that I-polyhedrality and IV-polyhedrality are equivalent if \(\mathcal A\) consists of finite sets.
