Heat transfer from a moving surface in a stationary or moving fluid is very important in many manufacturing processes like hot rolling, continuous casting, extrusion, and drawing. This paper investigates heat transfer characteristics of a non-isothermal flat surface moving parallel to a flowing surrounding fluid. The results are given for two cases: power law variation in wall temperature, and uniform surface heat flux. The non-dimensional temperature profiles and Nusselt number are presented for different values of free stream velocity, normalized velocity difference, wall temperature exponent, and Prandtl number. It is observed that an increase in the values of free stream velocity, wall temperature exponent and Prandtl number results in an increase in heat transfer rate.
